Images for Contents page and Front cover

Contents page images

This is the images that i took for my Contents page i would like to use these images for the editors note. ( the props in this image and the jacket and the model).

The image reflects the rock theme because of the red hair ad serious look.

This is an image that i would also like to use on my contents page

This image i will also hopefully use on my contents page because of the pose of the model. ( he is doing devil horns which is very popular in these genres). (the props used in these images where the jean jacket and black eyeliner).

This is a very serious pose that the models has one, like most metal singers.

This picture kind of shows the models fun side. because he is sticking out his tongue.

This is a picture i took in Camden of a tattoo shop, i though that my dark angel would suite my magazine.

This is an image of a guy screaming, he is presenting the screaming vocals that appears in a lot of rock.

Front Cover Images

This is an image of my model smashing a guitar at the screen i will also use these in my front cover but unfortunately the image came out blurry.

(props used in this image where the guitar and the t-shirt).

The effect i was going for was a rebellious rocker who smashed a screen and the glass cracks could be seen.

This is also another image that shows the rock side of the model from this shirt to his messy hair to the blue electric guitar he is holding.

For all of these images i used the canon eos 1000d

Contents page Analysis

in this image i analysed a contents page from my genre and compared two contents page magazines.

in this image i analysed a contents page from HAMMER magazine. that covers such genres as Rock and Metal.

Images for My Double Page Spread

In this image the angle that this photo is taken in is a profile, with a slight tilt. the model has direct eye contact with the camera. This emotion that the model gives is curious.

in this image the model is looking at the camera with a fierce look, the model ruffles her hair to make her look crazy and wild, this is the type of theme that run in metal magazines.

in this image the model is looking away from the camera and smiling, the model shows happiness and excitement.

again the model is looking away from the camera and seems distant, this type of image is most common in rock / metal magazines.

in this image the model is looking directly at the camera with a sad look in her eye, again emotion is strongly put in metal magazines so this is why i wanted to recreate this

in this image the model is looking at the camera with a seductive look in her eyes , and women in metal magazines are usually addressed in a seductive way. she also looks like she is smirking at the camera .

This is the stages of the photo through Photoshop. I decided to try out different photo filters. This here is in black an white.

then I decided to change from black and white and use vibrant colours but darken them a bit.

This is the final picture I decided to use for my double page spread. i decided to make a few changes with my model, so i used Photoshop to change the colour of her hair to a much darker red, for the Gothic look, i also decided to make her lips darker using Photoshop. i also brightened up her face to make her look more sickly and paler. the jumper was a bright green, a colour not really seen in metal, so i decided to make it white/grey. The same with her collar, i turned it into black. in the end i altered her look from sweet and colourful to dark and serious.
